I started joining community-based organizations since 1999. Currently I am a member of the women’s group Manuwani Indonesia as the leader of the organization to realize that everyone has the space and strength to increase and develop their potential in all dimensions of life to create a socially just and sustainable life. Currently, I have initiated a group of women sex workers to amplify women’s voices at the grassroots level to become part of the gender-inclusive women’s movement in Indonesia as well as to initiate elderly female ex-sex workers who are homeless, (living in public cemeteries), to improve their quality of life. I hope that by joining this Namati and legal empowerment network I will gain knowledge and good practice experience about legal empowerment from various issues based on the experiences of women in other parts of the world that I can put into practice so that we have good knowledge and skills in advocacy work that focuses on vulnerable and marginalized women.
