Academic at the Faculty of Law, University of Taiz since 2004, with the rank of Associate Professor and Head of the Women and Child Development Center in Taiz Governorate.

Dr. Sawsan held several positions, including the position of Head of the Law Department, then Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, and Dean of the Women’s Development Research and Studies Center at the university.

During the war period in 2016, Dr. Sawsan normalized life in the city of Taiz by opening the university’s doors for students to complete their studies and take exams, as she supervised the exams for the city center.

In 2017, she established the Women and Child Development Center in Taiz, to support the protection of women and children, due to the violations they were subjected to. Since its establishment, the Women and Child Development Center has carried out many activities to raise awareness of women’s rights, combat gender-based violence, and support gender equality. The Foundation participates in many community activities, to strengthen the social fabric in the governorate, worked as a community advisor for the districts of Mudhaffar and Cairo, in addition to its contribution to strengthening the role of women in conflict resolution and peace building, as well as in advocacy campaigns for women to obtain the right to obtain a woman’s passport without guardianship and consent of the guardian That is a constitutional right

Dr. Sawsan, through the center’s activities, also seeks to eradicate legal illiteracy for women in Taiz governorate, protect women from all kinds of violence based on them, and promote the principle of gender equality.

Dr. Sawsan believes in the necessity of involving young people in decision-making, who pays great attention to encouraging young people to become a member of the center and to build their capabilities in community service.

Languages: Fluent in Arabic and Russian and good English

Dr. Sawsan supervised many graduation theses for doctoral and master’s students inside and outside Taiz University. She also participated in many seminars and presented many working papers in the field of law. She has several papers published in journals, including “The Responsibility of the Physician in IVF” and Introduction to Law Study
