The Third International Financing for Development Conference kicks off next week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In this new video Devex’s Senior global development reporter Michael Igoe gives a great overview of what will be going on and rundown of possible outcomes.
Heads of State, Ministers of Finance, Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, International Finance Institutions, NGOs and business sector entities will all come together to agree new financing mechanisms. The Conference will result in an agreed outcome document, which will be an important contribution to and support the implementation of the post-2015 development agenda and the new sustainable development goals. Issues to be discussed include ODA, Domestic Tax Revenue, Private Sector Constitutions, Philanthropy. We will be keeping a close eye on commitments made to justice and Goal 16 and I will update on the outcomes.
