Africans Rising for Justice, Peace and Dignity is working to form a new seven-member Nominations Committee that will be responsible for overseeing the election of Africans Rising Coordinating Collective members.
The Coordinating Collective is an elected committee responsible for the oversight and governance of the coordination and implementation of Africans Rising’s plans and activities. To ensure that the Coordinating Collective members are fairly, transparently, and credibly elected they rely on a Nominations Committee.
The Nominations Committee will call for Coordinating Collective member nominations, validate the eligibility of candidates for the Coordinating Collective, and vet and select the final candidates for the Coordinating Collective, among other responsibilities. The Nominations Committee members will serve their term from September 2020 to February 2021, when the Coordinating Collective elections have been completed.
